Education:

Alex has bachelor's degrees in athletic training and Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado. She completed a graduated assistantship at Regis University where she attained her master's of science in Health Services Administration. She is currently working on her PhD from the University of Alabama in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on sports medicine in adapted athletics and leadership. With an expected graduation in August of 2026.

Alabama Adapted Athletics Career:

Alex Curry is the Director of Sports Medicine for Adapted Athletics at the University of Alabama. Alex arrived at Alabama in 2021 from Colorado. She has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 2015 and has worked in the collegiate and professional sports worlds. Alex has helped the tide in winning 6 nationals titles across both basketballs and tennis. Alex was the medical representative for the USA U-25 women's wheelchair basketball team in 2024. They took gold at worlds. Alex is currently the USA senior women’s basketball team representative and will travel with the team to the 2024 Paralympics.
Alex is on the AT Cares committee helping athletic trainers after traumatic events in their fields. Alex has recently begun research in adapted athletes. She was published for a study on vestibular ocular motor screening testing in collegiate adapted athletes in 2024. She is committed to increase the amount of sports medicine research in para-athletes.
