Crimson Tide Women's Wheelchair Basketball Shines at Powerade Invitational
The University of Alabama women's wheelchair basketball team finished the Powerade Invitational on Jan. 17-18 with a 3-1 record. Hosted at Stran-Hardin Arena, the Tide defeated UT Arlington (60-47) and the University of Illinois (77-34, 63-52), with their lone loss coming in a 46-59 defeat to UT Arlington on Jan. 18.
The weekend kicked off on Jan. 17, with Alabama securing a 60-47 victory over UT Arlington. Later that day, the Tide cruised to a 77-34 win over Illinois.
On Jan. 18, Alabama faced UT Arlington again but fell short in a 46-59 loss. However, the Tide bounced back, defeating Illinois 63-52 in the final game of the weekend.
With a 10-2 overall record, Alabama is off to a strong start this season. The team holds a .833 win percentage and remains one of the top teams in women's collegiate wheelchair basketball. Alabama also boasts a 7-1 record on the road.
