Alabama Adapted Athletics Announces 2025–26 Wheelchair Basketball Schedules

Tuscaloosa, Ala. — Alabama Adapted Athletics is proud to announce the release of the official 2025–26 season schedules for both the Men's and Women's Wheelchair Basketball teams. The upcoming season will feature a competitive mix of home and away contests, highlighted by two major home tournaments that will bring elite-level wheelchair basketball to Tuscaloosa.
The Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team enters the season with a full slate of matchups designed to prepare the Crimson Tide for postseason success. Alabama will host its first home tournament on December 5–6 at Stran-Hardin Arena, welcoming visiting programs from across the country. The Tide will return to home court again on February 20–21 for its second home tournament, giving fans another opportunity to experience high-caliber wheelchair basketball in Tuscaloosa. The men's team will conclude its season at the NWBA Men's Intercollegiate National Championships, hosted by the University of Arizona from March 30 through April 4. The Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team also looks forward to a dynamic 2025–26 campaign, featuring strong competition and opportunities to build on past success. The women's program will join the men's team in hosting the December 5–6 and February 27–28 tournaments at Stran-Hardin Arena, giving fans four full days of adapted basketball action on campus this season. The Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team will begin the season at the Charlotte Tournament on November 1–2, traveling to Charlotte, N.C., for multiple matchups. In January, they will participate in the University of Texas at Arlington Tournament with games against Arizona, Eastern Washington, and UTA in Arlington, Texas, January 23–24. Later in March, the men return to the UTA Tournament again (March 14–15) before culminating their season at the 2026 NWBA Men's Intercollegiate National Championships in Tucson, Ariz.  

The Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team also opens with the Charlotte Tournament on November 1–2 in Charlotte, N.C. Their next major road event is the University of Arizona Tournament in Tucson from November 14–15. In late January, they will compete in the UT Arlington Tournament (January 23–24) in Arlington, Texas. Finally, in March, the women return to Arlington, Texas, for a UTA Tournament (March 14–15), before closing their season at the 2026 NWBA Women's Intercollegiate National Championships in Tucson, Ariz.

The 2025–26 season represents another exciting chapter in Alabama Adapted Athletics' mission to promote excellence, inclusion, and leadership through sport. Hosting home tournaments in December and February will not only showcase elite wheelchair basketball talent but also highlight the continued growth and community support surrounding the Crimson Tide's adapted programs.
